科研成果

1. 基于氧化石墨烯液晶的电光显示器件研究

研究概述:提出了氧化石墨烯液晶“中间液晶象”的浓度区间,实现了0.2wt%氧化石墨烯液晶在交流电场下的场致取向,通过搭建光电克尔系数测试仪,成果测得氧化石墨烯液晶的克尔系数达到了10-5次方。经比较氧化石墨烯液晶电光显示器件的驱动电压,比商用液晶显示器件降低功耗三个数量级。相关研究成果发表于2014年3月的《自然材料》[Nature Materials, 13 394-399 (2014)]。

针对氧化石墨烯液晶商用化的可能性进行了探索性研究,首先对器件“光电响应速度”(on/off time)进行性能提升。通过对液晶材料的尺寸筛选后发现,尺寸越小液晶材料的分子之间作用力呈现几何倍的降低。通过对材料的筛选,氧化石墨烯液晶器件的响应速度从1秒钟附近降低到0.2秒。相关论文发表于[Optics Express, 23(4), 4435-4440 (2015).[Carbon, 105, 8-13 (2016)][ Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 118(45), 26304-26312 (2014).

 

2. 新型液晶材料的开发与显示应用

众多的纳米材料具有层状结构,在溶液状态下会自发的产生布拉格反射现象。

研究概述1:层状结构的氧化石墨烯液晶同样会展示出布拉格反射的特性,通过材料合成首次汇报了氧化石墨烯液晶随着浓度变化,会有两个轮次的布拉格反射周期。通过光学测试发现该液晶材料实现了可视光波长的全覆盖。在理论上进一步证明了,以氧化石墨烯为代表的二维纳米液晶材料具有的布拉格反射,是由液晶自发向列相排序引起的。相关成果发表于[NPG Asia Materials, 8, e296].

研究概述2:在新型液晶材开发方面,成功制备了可剥离层状次磷酸盐,经比较次磷酸锌的合成颗粒尺寸在400nm±50nm范围内,颗粒表面电荷达到-47ev时,器件的电光效果最佳。经测试该液晶材料的开启时间(on time)0.005秒 关闭时间(off time)为0.01秒,比氧化石墨烯液晶进一步提高了两个数量级,具有良好的商业应用前景。该系列研究的美国与韩国专利分别于2020、2019年获得授权,相关系列研究成果发表于[Advanced Materials, 30(40), 1802441 2018] [RSC Advances,8(30),16549-16556 2018][ Optics Express, 26(1), 2018]
