The 2017 SID Display Week New Technology Workshop was successfully held at Sichuan University in Chengdu from July 21 to 23, 2017. The Workshop was organized by the Beijing Chapter of the Society for International Information Display and hosted by Sichuan University and China Sichuan Flat Panel Display Industry Association.

Prof. Qun Yan, chairman of SID Beijing Chapter and professor of Fuzhou University, and Mr. Ming-Song Tai, Secretary of College of Electronics and Information Engineering of Sichuan University attended the opening ceremony of the conference and made speeches. The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Qiong-Hua Wang.

More than 150 people from more than 10 universities such as Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sun Yat-sen University, Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Beijing University of Technology, South China University of Technology, Fuzhou University, South China Normal University and Southern University of Science and Technology, and nearly 10 enterprises attended the conference. Prof. Qun Yan, Prof. Guo-Fu Zhou, Prof. Xiao-Wei Sun, Prof. Qiong-Hua Wang, Prof. Tong-Sheng Mou, Prof. Xiao-Jun Guo, Prof. Hong-Long Ning, Prof. Jian-Gang Lu, Dr. Zhi-Cheng Ye, Prof. Bo-Ru Yang, Dr. De-Long Zhang, Researcher Li Lin, Mr. Zhong-He Tai, Dr. Zhong Ji, Mr. Ting Chen, etc. gave 14 invited presentations and 3 special technical lectures. The conference covered various display technology fields such as 3D stereoscopic display, VR/AR/MR, flexible and printed display, AMOLED, TFT technology, commercial display, touch display and fingerprint recognition, display standard and measurement, quantum dot material and display, liquid crystal display and new application, micro LED and display material. At the same time, the conference conducted a demonstration of the achievements of Sichuan University Information Display Research Institute in 3D display and received good comments by the participants.

The conference provided a broad and high-quality communication platform for domestic scholars in the field of display, which is of positive significance to promote the research of display technology and the rapid development of its industry in China.
